EasyBuilder X: Next-Generation HMI Programming Software

Weintek officially introduces EasyBuilder X, its new HMI visualization and programming software, giving automation engineers a more efficient and flexible platform for HMI development.

EasyBuilder X brings together object-oriented concepts, modular design, advanced data structures, and a modern UI/UX to meet today’s HMI development needs. For large, complex projects that require future expansion, EasyBuilder X is an ideal choice for improving maintenance efficiency and team collaboration.

Object-Oriented Design: Build Large Projects from Individual Objects

Object-oriented design uses objects as the basic building blocks of an HMI project. By combining objects and defining how they interact, engineers can progressively build complete HMI projects. Each object has its own properties, events, and methods. Event-driven actions and method calls create clear, intuitive interactions between objects, reducing the need to exchange status information through shared addresses.

Property

Event

Method

Defines a widget’s appearance and data, such as a Button widget’s value, color, and size.

Notifies the system when a widget’s state changes and triggers subsequent actions.

Defines actions a widget can perform, such as acquiring input focus, switching states, or executing a control process.

With Custom Models and Custom Widgets, frequently used screen designs and interaction logic can be packaged for quick reuse throughout a project. This significantly improves development, scalability, and maintenance for large HMI projects.

Variable-Centric Design for a More Flexible Data Architecture

EasyBuilder X uses variables as the core of data exchange. Instead of directly linking HMI widgets to PLC device addresses, widget properties are bound to variables, while variables are mapped to actual PLC addresses. This separation creates a more flexible and manageable data architecture.

Data Types define the data specifications of variables. They include basic data types such as INT, REAL, and BOOL; built-in data types such as Color and Range; and user-defined structured data types.

EasyBuilder X also introduces Namespaces, making it easier to organize and manage data types and variables.

A New Workspace for a More Intuitive Experience

The redesigned workspace keeps frequently used functions accessible from the sidebar, making it easy to view and adjust settings without repeatedly opening and switching between windows. The central workspace supports more than HMI screen design. Resources such as Device List, Variable Library, and String Library can also be opened directly as tabs. Screen design and resource configuration can therefore be completed in one unified workspace, creating a more focused and streamlined development experience.
