The P3-622 CPU is the newest CPU module in the Productivity3000 system and is intended to replace the P3-550E CPU which is approaching end of life. The new P3-622 CPU is part of the ProFire series of CPUs and has many of the same features the P3-550E CPU has with some additional features, such as a USB B programming port and configurable serial ports (each serial port can be configured as RS-232 or RS-485). In addition, the second Ethernet port can be used for native Remote I/O or configured to be a standard Ethernet port (like the first Ethernet port).
Productivity Suite version 4.4.0.60 has several new features that will be beneficial to users:
- Native support for DURAPulse GS30 drives
- Version Control – track project changes using a local git repository, review project history, revert to a previous version if needed, and more easily compare differences between project versions.
- User Profiles – save different software profiles that are specific for different user setups and easily switch between them when needed. For example, the user can setup a profile for a typical office programming environment that has multiple monitors with the software dialogs and windows arranged for optimum programming efficiency. The user can also setup a different profile for a factory floor environment where the user is working from a laptop and has the software configured for optimum troubleshooting/installation efficiency. The user can then switch between these profiles without the need to reset the software environment and configure it each time.
- AMC Backlash Compensation – gives the user software tools to help mitigate the effects of mechanical backlash (“give”) in a system or machine.
