Communications and networking

Lamonde Products Productivity3000 Communications & Networking

Communication is a vital component of any control system. With the many networking options available, including Ethernet and serial, controllers need to have adequate ports and protocols. The Productivity3000 CPUs have many built-in communication ports; optional modules can provide protocol conversions or additional serial ports.

Productivity3000® PAC - Communications and Networking

... Most cost effective control solution on the market !

Productivity3000 PAC - Programmable Automation Controller

The Productivity3000 programmable automation controller (PAC) is a compact logic controller that combines the features and capabilities of a PC-based control system with that of a typical programmable logic controller (PLC). The Productivity3000 PAC offers you a more powerful control solution that is easier to use and more cost effective than any control solution in the market.

The P3-550 Standard and P3-530 Basic are high-performance CPUs. Both have several communications ports which support USB, Ethernet and serial devices.

Productivity3000 PAC - Programmable Automation Controller

P3-530 On-Board Communications Ports

  • Two serial communications ports: (1) RS-232 (RJ12), (1) RS-485 (3-wire terminal block), both supporting Modbus RTU Master/Slave and ASCII In/Out up to 115.2K baud rate
  • One 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for connecting Modbus TCP/IP for programming and monitoring as well as communications to any Modbus TCP enabled device
  • Two USB communication ports: (1) USB A for connecting Local Expansion I/O, and (1) USB A for data logging via removable drive

  • Two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports: (1) for connecting the remote slave to the CPU, (1) for connecting Modbus TCP/IP for programming and monitoring as well as communications to any Modbus TCP enabled device.
    EtherNet/IP Scanner/Adapter protocol support.
  • Three USB communication ports: (1) USB A for connecting Local Expansion I/O, (1) USB A for program transfer and data logging via removable drive, and (1) USB B for programming

EtherNet/IP™ Scanner/Adapter as a Standard Protocol

The Productivity3000 controller now supports the ODVA's EtherNet/IP as a standard protocol.

  • Through its embedded Ethernet port, the P3-550 CPU can support EtherNet/IP configurable as a Scanner or Adapter (or both simultaneously).
  • The P3-550 CPU can communicate to devices using either Explicit messaging or Implicit "I/O" messaging methods.
  • These two common implementations offer access to the majority of the EtherNet/IP devices available in the industry, including third-party controllers, drives and other I/O hardware.
  • In Scanner mode, the P3-550 CPU supports up to 128 total connections with a maximum of 32 devices.
  • Enabling the CPU to support and exchange EtherNet/IP messages simply requires completing fill-in-the-blank style configuration and Message instruction windows in the programming software.
  • To assist with implementation, diagnostic tags are available to help determine which layer of the protocol may be preventing successful communications.
P3-SCM Serial Communications Module

P3-SCM Serial Communications Module

Productivity3000 4-port serial communications module.

  • Capable of Modbus, ASCII and custom communications protocols
  • The P3-SCM is also able to power the C-more Micro through RS-232 (Port 1 only) for use with the Productivity3000
  • P3-SCM contains:
    • (3) RS-232 (RJ12) ports, half or full duplex
    • (1) port selectable between RS-232 (RJ12) or RS-485 (4-wire terminal block), half duplex
    • All ports support Modbus RTU Master/Slave, ASCII In/Out and Custom Protocol up to 38.4K baud
GS-EDRV100 communications module

GS-EDRV100 Ethernet Interface

The GS-EDRV100 Ethernet interface provides a high-performance Ethernet link between a control system and any GS or DURAPULSE AC drive.

  • The GS-EDRV100 processes signals to and from the drive, mounts on 35mm DIN rail, and connects the drive to an Ethernet hub or PC.
  • The GS-EDRV100 formats drive signals to conform with the Ethernet standard and transmits these signals to the H2-ERM100 or H4-ERM100, Productivity3000, KEPDirect OPC Server, KEPDirect EBC I/O Server, or independent controller with a Modbus TCP/IP driver.
  • A built-in Web browser allows users to configure and control the drive from any Web browser via the IP address of the GS-EDRV100 card.
FA-ISOCON - Universal Isolated Network Adapter

FA-ISOCON - Universal Isolated Network Adapter

The FA-ISOCON Universal Isolated Network Adapter is used to place RS-232 devices such as PLCs, operator interfaces, industrial computers, etc., on an RS-422 or RS-485 multi-drop network.

  • Converts RS-232 signal levels to isolated RS-422 or RS-485 signal levels.
  • Similar to our other RS232/RS422 converters, but it offers the added benefit of network isolation.
  • Isolation removes ground loop currents and noise voltages. Common mode noise effects are eliminated.
  • Power directly from the 5 V pins on most DirectLOGIC CPU ports, from a PLC base 24 VDC power supply, or from an external power supply.
