I live in Somerset and work as an Electrical Design Engineer. I served an apprenticeship with Numatic in Chard and was there for a few years before moving on to new challenges. In my spare time I am involved with Gemini Carnival Club, a Somerset Carnival Club – we build a carnival cart every year and tour the Somerset carnival circuits with it.

This TechTip is about using a Weintek HMI as a large digit display with numbers bigger than the permitted "255" for a numeric object. The Weintek Macro language has a some useful functions for stripping 32bit and 16bit numbers into words, and bytes. In this macro example, we're splitting a 32bit word into a 16bit "HIWORD" and a 16bit "LOWORD", and splitting the two resulting words into four bytes.
